Eight resorts penalised for not ensuring employees’ verification

The Pauri district police have penalised eight resort owners for not conducting verification of their employees under the special verification drive launched in the State. The police imposed Rs 1,50,000 challan under Police Act.                                       

It is pertinent to mention that a special drive for verification of hotels and resorts has been launched in the State following the murder of Ankita Bhandari who used to work as a receptionist at the Vanantara resort in Ganga Bhogpur area of the Yamkeshwar with the resort Pulkit Arya, manager Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta being the main accused.

The police imposed a total penalty of Rs 1,50,000 on the resort owners under the Police Act.
