Jewellers in Dehradun have come up with discounts and varied offers to attract people to buy gold and jewellery on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya which falls on May 10. They are offering attractive discounts and offers to customers to entice them to buy jewellery and other gold items. Several jewellers in Dehradun have stated that numerous residents have already placed orders with them and booked gold and diamonds ahead of the festival to avoid any last-minute rush.

Apart from this, many gold jewellers believe that the sale of gold may surpass the sale on Akshay Tritiya in past years as a result of the post-Covid financial stability. Owner of a jewellery shop in Dehradun, Harkirat Singh said that traditionally, the sale of gold and diamond jewellery tends to increase significantly during Akshay Tritiya. To attract more customers, jewellers often introduce new designs and offer attractive discounts and promotions on this special occasion. Singh said that the average rate of gold on Akshaya Tritiya this year is Rs 65,000 per 10 grammes. To further entice customers, on May 10, they are offering an enhanced discount on gold-making charges as well as a zero per cent making charge on diamond jewellery. He added that they have already received numerous pre-booked orders for gold and diamond jewellery for the occasion.

Another jeweller Vinod Verma said, “We are receiving between 30 to 40 per cent of bookings ahead of purchasing gold on special occasions. We are currently providing a 25 per cent discount on the making of gold jewellery and a 10 per cent discount on the making of diamond jewellery.”

He further added that due to the financial stability that has been regained after the Covid pandemic, the sale on Akshay Tritiya this year will be better than in past years.

Owner of a jewellery shop in Paltan Bazaar, Rajeev Kumar stated that they have launched many new designs of gold and diamond jewellery with attractive offers and discounts. Kumar said that people consider this day more auspicious for buying jewellery. As a result, many customers have already selected their products beforehand to avoid any hassle while collecting their items, he said.
