Third wave of Covid-19 pandemic on wane in U’khand

Only 161 new cases, two deaths reported on Monday

In a clear indication that the third wave of the pandemic of Covid-19 is on wane in Uttarakhand only 161 new cases of the disease were reported from different parts of the state on Monday.  The state health department also reported the death of two patients from Covid-19 in the state on the day. A total of 89 patients were declared cured from the disease on Monday.

The state health department has so far detected 88,681 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 79,386 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 235 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 89.52 per cent on Monday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 1.44 per cent on the day.  

The authorities reported the death of one patient each at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital and Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun on the day.

 The health department reported 53 new patients from Dehradun, 20 each from Haridwar and Uttarkashi and 19 from Almora on Sunday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 6,275.  Dehradun with 2,914 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 1004 active cases of the disease. Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table with 46 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 1,136 people were vaccinated in 295 sessions in the state held on Monday.
