In latest Uttarakhand news, acting under the direction of superintendent of police (City) Rudrapur and the police circle officer Pantnagar, Dineshpur police busted a wildlife poaching racket by arresting two alleged wildlife traffickers and seizing three turtles from their possession during a raid on a shoe godown near Vijay Nagar trisection. The accused duo was identified as Abhishek, resident of Budaun district, Uttar Pradesh and Sajan, resident of the same UP district. The turtles seized weigh over 16 kg, police informed and added that the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protect Act, 1972. Police further said that till date, over 350 turtles of rare species have been seized from within the jurisdictional limits of the Dineshpur police station.
