Link National Games preparations to sports legacy plan: CS

In latest news from Doon, the chief secretary Radha Raturi stressed on firming up a legacy plan on world class sports infrastructure development while preparing for the 38th National Games slated in Uttarakhand later this year.  She gave this directive to the sports department officers while chairing a meeting of the high power committee on the 38th National Games at the Secretariat. She was informed at the meeting that 80 per cent of the sports infrastructure development work related to the National Games had already been completed. She said that the National Games had come to the State as a golden opportunity to play host to green sports and green tourism on the global scale.  She directed the officers concerned to take necessary steps to facilitate uninterrupted internet service for those who would throng the State for the National Games. Besides, she stressed on solar lights being installed at the stadiums and the venues of the National Games in assistance with Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA).
