The Kasiga School will be inaugurating its cricket academy in collaboration with the West Delhi Cricket Academy in Dehradun on February 1, said the chairman of the school Ramesh Batta. He said this during a Press conference held here on Saturday.

Batta said that he has been involved in the field of cricket for 40 years and his determination to see children in Uttarakhand excel in the sport prompted him to open the cricket academy. He expressed his gratitude towards Raj Kumar Sharma who was the coach of cricketer Virat Kohli, who has partnered with them for the academy. Batta said that Sharma, along with his qualified coaches, will provide cricket training to the children. Additionally, the Kasiga Cricket Academy aims to offer training not only to its students but also to individuals in Dehradun who aspire to pursue a career in the sport, he said.

He further added that both boys and girls are eligible to be a part of the academy. The academy will operate seven days a week, with four days dedicated to school students and three days for children from outside, he said.

“Certified coaches with extensive knowledge and experience will provide guidance to all participants. Additionally, the academy aims to provide access to global academic resources to enhance the educational development of aspiring cricketers. Those who represent their State in any match will also receive a scholarship for the training programme offered by Kasiga Cricket Academy,” said Sharma
