Guru Govind Singh and his sons’ sacrifice unique chapter in world’s history: Dhami

The sacrifice of Guru Govind Singh and his four sons is a unique chapter in the world’s history. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said this while speaking at a programme in Nanakmatta, Udham Singh Nagar on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas on Monday. He paid tributes to the Sikh Guru and his sons along with freedom fighter Udham Singh after paying his obeisance at the Nanakmatta Sahib Gurudwara.
Dhami said that Guru Govind Singh and his four sons- Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh had made the ultimate sacrifice which is a unique chapter not only in Indian but also in the world’s history. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid real homage to the four sons of the Guru by declaring the anniversary of their sacrifice as Veer Bal Diwas. This occasion will make the younger generation aware of the courage, chivalry and greatness of the four special youngsters and immortalise their sacrifice. “These courageous children sacrificed themselves to protect their Dharma. We should make our children aware by telling them the inspirational tales of such brave children,” said Dhami.
Dhami reiterated that the foundation of new India is being laid under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The nation is moving forward today in the spheres of sports, science, technology, exports and digital technology among others. India is today the fifth largest economy in the world. The CM expressed confidence stating that India will attain new heights during the 75th year of its independence. He said, “Today the Central and State governments are working together to make the journey to Hemkund Sahib more convenient with work also being undertaken to build a ropeway to Hemkund.” He told the students present on the occasion that time is valuable and that time should be used in working towards achieving dreams.
MLAs Shiv Arora, Mohan Singh Bisht, farmers commission vice chairman Rajpal Singh and other public representatives along with officials were also present on the occasion.
