In view of the prevailing cold wave conditions, the administration of Nainital Nagar Palika has started bonfires in public places from Monday. On the day, the bonfires were set up at Tallital Gandhi Chowk and Mallital Rickshaw stand of the town.
It is worth mentioning here that the Nagar Palika starts bonfires in public places to give relief to the poor and travelers from December 25. However this time the decision to ignite bonfires early was taken in view of early onset of chilly weather. The tourist city recorded a maximum temperature of 12.5 and minimum of 4.5 degree centigrade on Monday.
