Covid-19 patient tally mounts to 87376 in U’khand

13 deaths, 611 new patients reported on Tuesday

The contagion of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) is showing signs of getting reduced in many parts of the country but in Uttarakhand the spread of the disease is continuing at a rapid pace. The state health department 611 new patients of the disease on Tuesday after which the tally of the patients in the state climbed to 87376. The disease is continuing to remain fatal for the patients in the state. The authorities reported 13 deaths on Tuesday which increased the death toll to 1439 in the state. The department discharged 655 patients from different hospitals of the state after their recovery on Tuesday. A total of 79341 patients have so far recovered from Covid-19 and the percentage recovery now stands at 90.80. The sample positivity rate is at 5.30 percent.

The authorities reported death of five patients of Covid-19 from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Tuesday. Similarly four patients were declared dead at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on the day. Two patients succumbed to the disease at Himalayan hospital Dehradun while one patient each was reported dead at Kailash hospital Dehradun and Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun on Tuesday.

The health department reported 237 new patients of Covid-19 in Dehradun, 101 in Nainital, 49 in Almora, 43 in Uttarkashi, 35 in Haridwar, 34 in Chamoli, 30 in Udham Singh Nagar, 22 in Tehri, 19 in Pithoragarh, 18 in Champawat, 15 in Pauri, six in Bageshwar and two in Rudraprayag on Tuesday.

 Uttarakhand now has 5512 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at continuing to remain at top of the table of active cases with 1524 cases while with 1052 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 412 active cases. Pithoragarh has 398, Almora 305, Uttarkashi 337, Tehri 289, Pauri 263, Chamoli 242, Udham Singh Nagar 254, Champawat 164 and Bageshwar 160 active cases of the disease. With 112 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag is now at the bottom of the table of active cases of Covid-19.
