Go First launches direct flights from Doon to Delhi & Mumbai

Go First (formerly known as GoAir) announced the launch of direct flights from Dehradun to Mumbai and Delhi. The first flight G8 2306 was flagged off on Thursday from Dehradun at 3 PM and arrived at Delhi at 4:15 PM. Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the State’s Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaj appreciated the connectivity of Go First airlines. He expressed hope that with the start of these flights, many visitors will be able to reach Uttarakhand and participate in the winter Char Dham worship. He informed that during the winters, the presiding deity of Yamunotri is worshipped at Kharsali, the deity of Gangotri is worshipped at Mukhba, lord Kedarnath is worshipped in Ukhimath while lord Badrinath is worshipped ritually in Pandukeshwar and Joshimath. The start of the Go First flights will enhance the convenience of tourists who will be able to reach here to enjoy various attractions of the state during the winter, said Maharaj.

According to airline officials, Dehradun will be connected to Mumbai (1x daily) and Delhi (2x daily) with connections to/from Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna, Varanasi and Goa.

Speaking on the development, the airline’s CEO Kaushik Khona said, “At Go First, it has been a constant endeavour to build a strong network that will offer our customers ease of travel and viable options to choose from. The addition of these new stations will not only make our network robust but provide customers direct connectivity to metros and other important cities and beyond.”
