Gautam tells BJP leaders to increase door to door activity

The Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary and State in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam directed the party’s State office bearers to increase the party’s activities in every home as directed by the central leadership of BJP. In a meeting of the State office bearers held in the BJP State office here on Saturday, Gautam exhorted them to work towards achieving the target of 51 per cent vote share as decided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked PM Modi for giving Uttarakhand the opportunity to host two G20 programmes, adding that this is a golden opportunity for the State.

Addressing the party leaders in the meeting, Gautam said that during the recent meeting of the party’s national working committee, PM Modi and party president Nadda issued directions for the party’s activities, targets and coming programmes. It is now time for the party to work towards the big target of 51 per cent vote share for which the basic mantra is changing the tactic from door to door to house to house. “We do not have to limited to knocking the doors of the people’s home but sit in their homes and learn about their problems and attempt to resolve the same. We also have to bring in a sense of unity by celebrating the festivals of people from other States living in our State,” he said.

Chief minister Dhami said that Uttarakhand has received the opportunity to host two G20 events. These programmes to be held in Rishikesh will provide an opportunity to showcase the culture of te State, ideas and social identity in front of an international audience. Dhami said that the State government had recently taken the important step of getting the bill for 30 per cent horizontal reservation for the State’s women in government jobs passed in the Vidhan Sabha. Similarly, the government has brought a strict law to deter anyone from indulging in forced religious conversion, added the chief minister.

The party’s national vice president and State co in-charge Rekha Verma also expressed her views in the meeting.BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt spoke about the steps to be taken to further strengthen the party at the booth level.For this, the party will have to connect people of all sections according to their capability and activity in order to achieve the target of 51 per cent vote share, he said.

BJP State general secretary (organisation) Ajaey expressed his views on the use of social media. He said that the Whatsapp groups made from the State to booth levels during the election will be activated on a full time basis. He said that the party office bearers and workers should share their thoughts on social media in English, Hindi and also one regional language.
