Four resolutions were passed on the concluding day of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal meeting here on Sunday. The resolutions are regarding freeing Hindu temples from government control, enactment of strict law to prevent religious conversions, enactment of Uniform Civil Code and to raise awareness in the Hindu community through a Jan Jagran campaign across the nation.

After conclusion of the meeting which was also attended by members of religious fraternity from across the nation, the VHP national general secretary Milind Parande informed the media that all the Sadhus had welcomed the decision of the Uttarakhand government to work towards implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in the State. It should be implemented in all the States, he added. Parande further averred that the population of a particular ‘minority’ community has increased to about 13 per cent in Uttarakhand. He said that it is a matter of investigation as to how the population of this particular community is increasing in the mountainous areas of the State.

Referring to the recent violent riots in various places across the nation after the Friday Namaz, he called for stringent action against such elements, adding that nobody has the right to indulge in such violence. Expressing his views on the statements made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, he pointed out that none are speaking about what is happening in China or the bomb blasts in Pakistan while efforts are being made to organise riots across India which is not acceptable.

Regarding the Gyanvapi case, he said that the matter is in court now, adding that all the Sadhus in the VHP meeting have expressed their desire to see Gyanvapi being restored to its original form. Further strategy in this regard will be discussed, he said while adding that the Kashi and Mathura issues will be considered after the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya in 2023.
