Congress adopts double standards on CBI probe: Bhatt

The president of Uttarakhand unit of BJP Mahendra Bhatt has said that the Congress party always adopts double standards on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. He said that the Congress which is demanding action on the BJP MLA for being involved in the horticulture scam should first expel former chief minister Harish Rawat and senior leader Harak Singh Rawat from the party as a CBI inquiry is going on against them.

Responding to the questions of media at the State party office, Bhatt said that the Congress party expresses no confidence in the CBI in the sting CD case probe as it involves its leaders and on the other hand demands CBI investigation when some BJP leader is involved. He said that the BJP will take action against its MLA though he is not an accused in the horticulture scam if the Congress party expels Harish Rawat and Harak Singh Rawat.

Bhatt said that the BJP is working on the policy of ‘ zero tolerance on corruption’ and this is the reason that action on senior officers has been taken in corruption cases. On the horticulture scam, the State president of BJP said that both CM Dhami and the minister concerned took prompt action when the matter came to their notice. The MLA has also made his opinion public and the State government is committed to take stern action on whosoever is found involved in the case.

Bhatt added that the Congress party has never remained serious on attracting investment in the State for development. He said that the Dhami government is moving with full preparation for the global investors’ summit proposed in Dehradun in December.  The BJP leader said that the State government has conducted a detailed study of the availability of resources, infrastructure facilities and demand of the industry and this preparation has yielded positive results. He claimed that the MoUs worth Rs 90,000 crore have already been inked and by the end of this month the investment target will be achieved.
