Flights to Ayodhya, Amritsar & Varanasi to start from Dehradun on March 6

The Civil Aviation ministry has approved the proposal to start direct flights to three important cities of Ayodhya, Amritsar and Varanasi from Dehradun. These services will start from March 6. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for the new air services.

 As per the schedule, on the day of the inauguration the flight to Ayodhya from Dehradun airport will take off at 9:40 AM and land in the holy city at 11:30 AM. The same flight will leave Ayodhya at 12:15 PM and reach Dehradun at 1:55 PM.

The Amritsar- Dehradun flight will leave Amritsar at 12:00 noon and land at Dehradun airport at 1:10 PM. The plane will depart from Dehradun at 1:35 PM and reach Amritsar at 2:45 PM.

The Dehradun-Varanasi air service will be via Pantnagar. The passenger plane will

take off at 9:50 AM from Dehradun to reach Pantnagar airport at 10:35 AM. From this airport the plane will leave at 11:15 AM to reach Varanasi at 1:00 PM. On its return the flight will leave Varanasi at 1:40 PM and reach Pantnagar at 3:25 PM. From Pantnagar the plane will leave at 3:50 PM to reach Dehradun at 4:35 PM.

It is pertinent to mention here that Dhami was consistently trying to start air services to three cities for quite some time. Before the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Dhami had written a letter to Union minister Scindia for the commencement of direct air service between Dehradun and Ayodhya. He had also personally met the Union minister for air services to the three important cities.
