CM & Union MoS visit Silkyara

CM’s camp office set up at Matli in Uttarkashi

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the Union minister of State for Road Transport and Highways VK Singh visited Silkayara in Uttarkashi on Thursday to oversee the relief and rescue operation underway from the last 11 days to evacuate 41 labourers. After the visit the duo had a review meeting with the officers of the State administration and agencies involved in the rescue operation. In the meeting they directed that all the agencies should continue the operation with mutual coordination. The CM and the Union MoS said that every effort to rescue the stranded labourers should be made.

The CM directed the officers that special care of the stranded labourers should be taken. He said that the things sought by the labourers should be provided to them. Dhami said that the officers should ensure that the doctors and relatives are in regular touch with the labourers. The meeting was attended by former adviser of Prime Minister and Officer on Special Duty, government of Uttarakhand Bhaskar Khulbe, Road Transport and National Highways secretary Anurag Jain, managing director of NHIDCL Mehmood Ahmed, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, inspector general of police, Garhwal, KS  Nagnyal, MLAs Sanjay Dobhal, Suresh Chauhan and other senior officers.

 Meanwhile CM Dhami is continuing to camp in Uttarkashi after reaching there on Wednesday evening.  The State administration has set up a temporary camp office of the CM in Matli where Dhami is staying. The office is set up with an objective to ensure that routine administrative works are not affected during the ongoing rescue operation. The office will also help in better monitoring of the rescue operation underway in Silkyara.
