Indian hockey goalkeeper PR Srejeesh has bagged the prestigious ‘World Games Athlete of the Year’ award. He has been given the award for his performances in the year 2021. Sreejesh was part of the men’s hockey team at the Tokyo Olympics where they won a bronze medal. He is the only second Indian to receive the award after Indian women’s hockey captain Rani Rampal, who took the award for her 2019 performances. Sreejesh beat sport climber Alberto Ginés López of Spain and Italy’s wushu player Michele Giordano to win the award.
