To generate awareness regarding crime, the first edition of the Crime Literature Festival of India will be held at Welham Boys School from November 3 to 5. The festival is being organised in collaboration with the Hans Foundation and ONGC. The former director general of police and the festival director Aloke Lal stated that the three-day event aims to raise awareness about crime. The festival will have an impressive line up of authors, filmmakers, actors and police officers who will contribute towards achieving the event’s vision, he said.

Lal further said that the festival seeks to inform the general public about the origins of crime, the workings of the criminal psyche and the methods investigators use to bring perpetrators to justice. Additionally, books dedicated to crime, both non-fiction and fiction, will be showcased during the festival, conveying meaningful messages to the audience. He said that collaborations with other literary festivals are being explored in order to widen the reach and impact of the event.

Lal further informed that as part of the programme, workshops on various activities, including crime writing, will be offered for children. Anyone interested in being a part of the festival should register on the crime literature festival website, he added.
