CM reviews situation, directs stricter checks on people arriving in U’khand

Secretary assures all necessary arrangements made for treatment

Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat reviewed the Covid-19 status in the state with senior officials on Monday evening. Directing officials to ensure strict enforcement of Covid guidelines, he said that all educational institutes in all districts should be closed. People from other states should be allowed to enter the state only with an RT-PCR negative report. The portal used earlier should be reactivated for registration of natives returning to Uttarakhand. All precautions should be observed to ensure that the medical health workers and other frontline workers do not get infected. The vaccination drive should also be stepped up.

Earlier while addressing the media, the secretary in-charge Pankaj Pandey informed that there is no need to panic though Covid guidelines should be followed to the letter. Of the total active cases, about 13,500 patients are in home isolation while about 5,000 are in various hospitals. Currently more than 7,000 isolation beds are vacant in the state along with more than 2,500 oxygen support bed, 363 ICU beds and 463 ventilators. Regarding the vaccination, he said that there is no shortage of vaccines in the state.He also added that there is no shortage of oxygen in the state. Regarding Remdisivir injection, he said that though these might be a little less in the whole country, the same will be supplied shortly to the state. The secretary said that the state has all arrangements for treatment but to break the chain of infection, it is essential to strictly observe the Covid guidelines.
