CM orders strict punitive action on illegal mining

Taking a stern note of the illegal mining in the State, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the tracking system needs to be strengthened to prevent illegal mining. He directed that strict action should be taken against those found involved in illegal mining in the State. The CM gave these orders while undertaking a review meeting of the mining and revenue departments on Friday. He directed the officers of the mining department to ensure that all the mining lots are in operation and are working in a legal manner. The CM directed the GMVN, KMVN and Forest Development Corporation to ensure that all the lots are operational. While reviewing the Revenue department the CM said that the process of revenue collection should be expedited. The officers informed that the department has taken up a target of digitisation of the land records and maps till March 2024 and conduct survey/ resurvey of all the land mentioned in the revenue records by 2026.

 The additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Sachin Kurve, Pankaj Kumar Pandey and others were present in the meeting.
