A day after assuming charge as the eleventh chief minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami directed forest department officials to expedite pending cases of forest land transfer for construction of roads and other development works. He also directed the departmental officials to prepare an effective action plan to address the human-wildlife conflict in the state. The chief minister said this when a delegation of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officials headed by the principal chief conservator of forests (head of forest force) Rajiv Bhartari met him here on Monday. Dhami said that there should not be unnecessary delay in clearing forest land transfer cases. He stressed that delay in forest land transfer cases is causing an unnecessary delay in completion of development works in the state. The IFS officers’ delegation presented a coffee table book based on Corbett national park to the chief minister on the occasion.

Cabinet minister Yatishwaranand, chief secretary SS Sandhu, CM’s special secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate and other officials were also present on the occasion.
