Senior IPS officer and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General Subodh Kumar Jaiswal was on Tuesday appointed as the new CBI Director for two years.
A 1985-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Maharashtra cadre, Jaiswal has earlier held the positions of Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra DGP.
The post of CBI director has been vacant since then incumbent Rishi Kumar Shukla retired on February 4.
