CM’s plan for district-wise review of works an eyewash: Cong

Winds of change evident in U’khand says Pritam Singh

Terming the proposed district wise review of the development works in the assembly constituencies by the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat as farce, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh has said that the BJP government has woken up very late.

Talking to the media persons at the Rajiv Bhawan here on Thursday, he said that no development work has taken place in the state in the last four years and in such a condition what review the CM would take?   He said that the BJP government was formed in the state in the year 2017 and in the last four years, the government was in slumber and now it is planning to review the works. Taking pot shots on the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the PCC president said that probably the CM has been influenced by a recent survey in which he was placed at number one position in the list of worst performing CMs. He claimed that even the MLAs of the ruling party are not satisfied with the performance of their government. Singh said that the government has promoted corruption, made false promises to farmers and unemployed. He said that the people of the state are reeling under poor health services.

The PCC president claimed that the people of the state have made up their minds for change of government in the next year’s assembly elections.  He said that the youth of the state are angry as the government has failed them and the agitation of farmers against the three draconian laws has taken the shape of a national movement. The PCC president said that the state government should not try to mislead the people of the state by undertaking the drama of review of the development works in the districts.

It is worth mentioning here that CM Rawat has decided to hold district wise review of the progress on the declarations made by him. In the first phase the MLAs of 10 mountainous districts have been invited to attend the review of their constituencies.

These meetings would start on February 15 and end on February 19 and would focus on completion and implementation of announcements made by the CM.
