Heavy to very heavy rain alert issued for 8 districts

The State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Tuesday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at many places in remaining districts with intense showers likely at isolated places in districts of Uttarakhand.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience generally cloudy skies with heavy rain likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 34.2 degrees Celsius and 24.7 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.6 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.5 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, 25.6 degrees Celsius and 19.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
