Debris continues falling off the hills as heavy downpour goes on unabated

In latest Uttarakhand news, the Badrinath pilgrimage has been halted again with the Badrinath National Highway being shut for traffic due to rain-triggered recurrent landslides at Chhinka on the Badrinath National Highway. Meanwhile, the State meteorological department warned that heavy shower would continue lashing the State till July 7. The department also issued heavy rain yellow alert till July 7. The weather officials further said that rain would drag on from July 8 to 14 though its intensity would keep declining. According to them, the monsoon will start weakening from the second/third week of July.
