Mortal remains of Dass cremated in Bageshwar

The mortal remains of the late Transport minister Chand Ram Dass were cremated at the Bagnath Sarayu Ghat in Bageshwar on Thursday morning. A large number of people attended the funeral procession from his residence to the cremation site. His two sons lit his funeral pyre. Dass expired on Wednesday due to cardiac arrest. He was also ailing for some time.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, cabinet ministers Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, Prem Chand Agrawal and Saurabh Bahuguna along with the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt, former Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, MLAs Suresh Gadiya, Bishan Singh Chufal, Diwan Singh Bisht, Banshidhar Bhagat and others were also among those who paid their tributes to the departed minister on the occasion. Expressing his condolences, Dhami said that the demise of Dass is an irreparable loss to politics. Remembering Dass as a simple and soft spoken person, the CM wished his family strength to bear the loss.
