Three persons died and eight were injured- two of them critically, after the jeep they were travelling in fell about 300 metres down the mountainside on the Karnprayag-Gwaldam motor road near Ghaniyal Dhar on Saturday morning in Chamoli district.
The vehicle with 12 persons on board was on its way to Gwaldam when it met with the accident at about 11:30 AM. The district administration took the seriously injured to the community health centre at Baijnath from where one was referred to the higher centre in Haldwani, while the other injured were taken to the primary health centre in Gwaldam. The bodies of the dead were taken to the community health centre in Tharali.
