Covid-19; 7,028 recoveries, 1,942 new patients reported in U’khand

The state health department of Uttarakhand reported 1942 new cases of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 7,028 recoveries from the disease on Friday. With it the cumulative count of Covid 19 patients in the state has mounted to 3,25,425 while the count of recovered patients stands at 2,79,516. The recovery percentage has increased to 85.89 and the sample positivity rate is 6.93 percent in the state. The state health department reported death of 52 patients of the disease which increased the tally of deaths to 6261 in the state.

Out of the 52 deaths reported on Friday, five each occurred at HNB Base hospital Srinagar and Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun, four each at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun, Military Hospital (MH) Dehradun, Sushila Tiwari Government hospital Haldwani and Sanjveeni hospital Kashipur, Udjham Singh Nagar. Similarly three deaths each occurred at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, MH Roorkee, Gautam Hospital Udam Singh Nagar and Base hospital Kotdwar.

Dehradun reported 421 new cases of Covid -19 on Friday while Haridwar reported 295, Nainital 204, Udham Singh Nagar 167, Tehri 154, Almora 132, Chamoli 1303, Pauri 93,  Bageshwar 92, Pithoragarh 78, Rudraprayag 77, Uttarkashi 75 and Champawat 51 new cases of the disease on Friday.

The state now has 39,994 active patients of the disease. Haridwar is the top position in the list of active cases with 7,746 cases. Dehradun is on second position with 4,979 cases, Pauri 3,646, Tehri 2,755, Chamoli 2,383, Nainital 2,376, Udham Singh Nagar 2,183, Rudraprayag 1,795, Almora 1,650, Pithoragarh 1,529, Bageshwar 1,178, Uttarkashi 1,028 and Champawat 746 active cases of the disease. 

The state now has 161 patients of Mucormycosis ( Black Fungus) and out of them 14 have died while 13 have recovered from the disease.

To contain the contagion of Covid-19, the state administration has set up 387 containment zones in different parts of the state. In the ongoing vaccination drive 17,629 people were vaccinated in 524 sessions in different parts of the state on Friday. A total of 6,82,460 people have been fully vaccinated while 21,89,969 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
