Daily food allowances for boarding school students doubled

In latest news from Dehradun, the State education department has doubled the food allowances for the students of the boarding schools based in Uttarakhand on the instruction of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This is claimed to be the biggest ever hike in boarding school students’ food allowances. The students of the boarding schools-Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Residential School and Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya- are to be benefited by this order. The State school education secretary Ravinath Raman has released the government order on this matter.    Speaking on this order, the director general, school education Banshidhar Tiwari said that with the State government’s order, the daily food allowance for the boarding school students has got raised at Rs 150. Letters have been written to the officers concerned of the districts, informing them of the government order, he added.
