Covid-19 contagion contained in U’khand?

1,003 new cases, 2,778 recoveries & 30 deaths reported on Wednesday

The positive trend of more recoveries than the new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid 19) is continuing in Uttarakhand which is manifested in increasing recovery percentage and decrease in the number of active cases of the disease in the state. The authorities reported 1,003 new cases of Covid 19 and 2,778 recoveries from the disease on Wednesday.

The cumulative count of the patients of Covid-19 in the state is now at 3,31,478 while a total of 2,93,768 patients have recovered from the disease so far. The state health department reported the death of 30 patients from the disease on Wednesday which increased the death toll to 6535 in the state. The samples of  29,3768 suspected patients were sent for testing on Wednesday and the sample positivity rate is at 6.82 percent.

Out of the 30 deaths reported on Wednesday, five  occurred at Himalayan hospital Dehradun and two each at Government Doon Medical College(GDMC) hospital Dehradun,  Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun, Ramakrishna Mission Sewashram Haridwar, SDH Roorkee, Vinay Vishal hospital Haridwar, Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, Vivekanand Hospital Nainital and HNB base hospital Srinagar on Wednesday.

The provisional state capital Dehradun reported 216, Haridwar 171, Pithoragarh 126,  Nainital 119, Tehri 79, Chamoli 58, Pauri 57,  Almora 54, Rudraprayag 48,  Udham Singh Nagar 44, Uttarkashi 18, Bageshwar nine and Champawat four new cases of the disease on Wednesday.

The state now has 25,366 active patients of the disease. Haridwar is the top position in the list of active cases with 5,750 cases. Pauri has 2825, Dehradun 2,743, Chamoli 2,153, Udham Singh Nagar 2,099, Pithoragarh 1,874, Tehri 1,555, Nainital 1,476, Almora 1,170, Bageshwar 1,037, Rudraprayag 1,005, Uttarkashi 929 and Champawat has 750 active cases of the disease. 

The state reported seven new cases of Mucormycosis ( Black Fungus) and seven deaths from it Wednesday. The count of the Black fungus cases has now become 244, out of them 27 have died while 13 have recovered from the disease.

To contain the contagion of Covid-19, the state administration has set up 280 containment zones in different parts of the state. In the ongoing vaccination drive 12,224 people were vaccinated in 282 sessions in different parts of the state on Wednesday. A total of 6,84,978 people have been fully vaccinated while 22,58,350  have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
