13 die from Covid-19 in U’khand on Wednesday

515 fresh cases reported; Covid count mounts to 79656 in the state

The contagious Covid-19 in Uttarakhand is showing no sign of any respite. The tally of the patients of the disease increased to 79656 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting 515 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of 13 patients on the day after which the death toll mounted to 1320 in the state. The authorities discharged 425 patients from different hospitals of the state after recovery on Wednesday. A total of 71966 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery percentage is now at 90.35.

Three patients of Covid-19 each were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani and Himalayan hospital Dehradun. Two patients of the disease died at Kailash hospital Dehradun while one patient each died at Mahant Indiresh hospital and HNB Base hospital Srinagar.

The authorities reported 171 fresh cases of the disease from Dehradun, 56 from Nainital, 52 from Pauri, 48 from Pithoragarh, 45 from Haridwar, 30 from Chamoli, 24 from Bageshwar, 23 from Uttarkashi, 21 from Tehri, 18 from Udham Singh Nagar, 16 from Rudraprayag, seven from Champawat and four from Almora district on Wednesday.

 The state now has 5456 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is maintaining its pole position in the table of active cases with 1830 cases while with 523 active cases, Haridwar is at second spot.  Nainital is at third position with 457 active cases, Pauri has 452, Pithoragarh 384, Chamoli 370,  Tehri 288,  Almora 274, Udham Singh Nagar 257,  Uttarkashi 197, Champawat 171 and Bageshwar 165 active cases of the disease. With only 82 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag now is at the bottom of the table.
