The recently appointed State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mahendra Bhatt was accorded a formal welcome at the party’s State office here on Monday in the presence of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other party leaders. He was first welcomed at the party’s Mahanagar office from where he proceeded towards the State office as part of a procession.

Addressing the party workers on the occasion, the BJP State president said that he will fulfill the expectations of the party’s central leadership and not disappoint any party worker in the State. Calling himself a trainee worker of the party, Bhatt shared his political and social experiences. He said that he considers the contribution of the dedicated workers of the Sangh and BJP as his source of inspiration. He said that the Sangh played an important role in transforming him from a common worker to an ideological worker.

Addressing the party workers on the occasion, chief minister Dhami said that every party worker has the right to put forward his or her view and should also do so. However, in the end it is the contribution made by the worker which takes him or her forward because the office bearers of the organisation consistently review the contributions of the party workers. The chief minister said that the young organisation and government will develop Uttarakhand into an ideal State in the future. Citing the example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that today every family in the nation feels that he is a senior member of the family. The party workers should also follow in Modi’s footsteps and contribute in such a way in their respective areas that they are considered as family members by citizens of the area. Along with various social media platforms and party programmes, the party workers should spend time with families in their areas and share information about the policies and works of the government and organisation.

BJP State general secretary (Organisation) Ajaey Kumar, general secretaries Kuldeep Kumar, Rajendra Bhandari, Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, MLAs Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, Savita Kapoor and other party office bearers were also present on the occasion.
