In what could prove to be a major relief amidst forest fires and rising level of mercury in the state, the state meteorological centre has forecast light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at many places in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Further, snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitude of 3200 metres and above. The meteorological centre has also issued a warning about hail/lightning likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital, Almora and Pithoragarh districts. Further, gusty wind (40-50 kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places in the plains of Uttarakhand.
Dehradun is forecast to experience partly cloudy sky with light rain/thunderstorm likely to occur in some areas. Gusty wind (30-40kmph) is also likely to occur in some areas with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius respectively.
