Weather forecast to start clearing in state from today

Many parts of the state experienced light to moderate rain on Saturday. However, the weather is forecast to start clearing from Sunday across the state. According to the State meteorological centre, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the state on Sunday. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 25 degrees Celsius and eight degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday. The director of the state meteorological centre, Bikram Singh said that while the state experienced light to moderate rain in various regions on Saturday the weather in most parts of the state is expected to start clearing from Sunday. The higher reaches in the inner districts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh may experience some activity but this too will end in the next couple of days. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the state on Saturday were 19.4 degrees Celsius and 10.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 19.8 degrees Celsius and 12.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 3.8 degrees Celsius and 2.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 6.2 degrees Celsius and 3.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. When it comes to the rainfall between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Dehradun received 4.8 millimetres while 2.2 millimetres was received in Pantnagar, 4.1 millimetres in Mukteshwar and 4.9 millimetres in New Tehri. In the Nainital district Chorgalia received 21.5 millimetres of rain, Takula and Someshwar in Almora district received 19 millimetres and 12 millimetres of rain respectively, Kausani in Bageshwar received 14.5 millimetres while Thalisain in Pauri district received 10 millimetres of rain on Saturday.
