U’khand’s schools feature among top 10 in national survey

A number of schools in Uttarakhand have featured in the annual Education World India School Rankings 2022-23. The results released based on the survey conducted by C-Fore features The Doon School as the top boys boarding school in India and Welham Girls as the second best girls boarding school in India.

This year in response to public and institutional demand that vintage schools (90 years and older) with decades of community service are a class apart, and should be assessed and ranked inter se, Vintage Legacy Schools are separately ranked in each sub-category. Even government schools have been ranked separately under Central Government and State Government schools this year. This survey features many Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital schools in the top 10 rankings nationwide.

In the vintage legacy co-ed day schools category, Saint Thomas College in Dehradun has been ranked 10th in the country. Saint George’s College, Mussoorie has been ranked fourth in vintage legacy boys boarding schools, Convent of Jesus and Mary, Waverly, Mussoorie has been ranked first in vintage legacy girls boarding schools while in the vintage legacy co-ed boarding schools category, Sherwood College, Nainital has been ranked second, Wynberg Allen school, Mussoorie has been ranked fourth and Saint Joseph’s College, Nainital has been ranked seventh. In the vintage legacy international residential schools category, Woodstock School, Mussoorie has been ranked first in India. In the boys boarding schools category, The Doon School, Dehradun has been ranked 1+, Welham Boys has been ranked 1, Birla Vidyamandir, Nainital has been ranked fourth,  Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School (Boys), Mussoorie fifth and GD Birla Memorial School, Ranikhet seventh. In the girls boarding schools category, Welham Girls school, Dehradun has been ranked second, Ecole Globale International Girls School, Dehradun has been ranked third, Hopetown Girls School, Dehradun has been ranked fourth, Unison World School, Dehradun seventh, Vantage Hall Girls Residential School, Dehradun eigtht with Shigally Hill International Academy, Dehradun and The Doon Girls school, Dehradun being ranked tenth. Among the co-ed boarding schools, Selaqui International School in Dehradun was ranked fourth while Kasiga School was ranked sixth. In the international residential schools category, the Mussoorie International School was ranked second. Similarly, in the government boarding schools category, the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun was ranked number one while Oak Grove School, Dehradun was ranked fifth.

The survey provides insights into ways and means to continuously raise teaching-learning standards for the greater good of the community and country. As parents today are more eager to provide the best education to their kids, the survey results might be interesting information for them as these schools have been voted by a mix of parents, teachers, senior students, and educationists and highlight the changing preference from pure academic-based to wholesome education.
