The co-convenor of the economic cell of State BJP Rajeshwar Painuly has said that the Global Investors’ Summit-2023’ will provide a two-way platform for both the State government and the investors. Interacting with the media-persons in Chamba here on Thursday, Painuly said that Uttarakhand has a diverse portfolio of niche tourism products which includes , adventure, medical, wellness, sports such as water sports, ice sports , MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions), AI data backup and storages its development opportunities, ecotourism, film, rural and spiritual tourism. He said that the State has been rapidly transforming itself into an economic powerhouse. The proximity to the National Capital Region (NCR) has made the State a preferred investment destination.
Painuli said Uttarakhand offers excellent connectivity with an extensive road network spanning over 45,000 km, two domestic airports, and a robust rail infrastructure. The State also has diverse agro-geo climatic zones and it presents commercial opportunities in floriculture and horticulture.
The state plans to double its horticulture processing capacity by 2030, boasting over 175 rare species of medicinal and aromatic plants and 403 horticulture-based units. He informed that Uttarakhand has an average literacy rate of 80 per cent and more than 61 per cent of its population is in the working age group due to which it offers a vast pool of talented human resource.
