The global communications platform Truecaller launched Truecaller Assistant in India for the Android users on Wednesday. Following the launching, the company officials claimed that Truecaller Assistant is a customisable, interactive and digital receptionist that answers calls and helps one avoid unwanted callers.

Speaking on the launch, the managing director Truecaller for its India operations Rishit Jhunjhunwala said, “Until now, Truecaller would show you who is calling you but now you can let Truecaller Assistant have a conversation with the caller on your behalf.  This is a very exciting next step for us in helping people avoid spam and fraud callers completely. We have rolled this out to a few markets earlier and we are really happy to offer this to the Truecaller fans in India.”

Truecaller Assistant is available on a free 14-day trial after which subscribers can add Assistant as part of Truecaller premium assistant plan that starts from INR 149 per month, the company officials said and added that this service was previously launched in the US and Australia.
