Leaders of various parties join BJP

Various leaders of the Congress and other parties including a former district Panchayat head and the former chairman of the OBC commission joined the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the large number of people wanting to join the BJP shows that there is no alternative to the party in Uttarakhand. He said that such an atmosphere will also be seen at the Vidhan Sabha level from March 5 when he and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will undertake a campaign to induct new members in the party. He assured that the new leaders joining the BJP will be accorded due respect in the party.

Haridwar MP and former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the people are sensing that the nation is safe under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He told the leaders joining the BJP that this is the right time to join the party because the nation is preparing itself to become a developed country. Former Uttarkashi district Panchayat head from the Congress, Prakash Ramola said that he had joined the party after getting impressed by the work done by PM Modi and CM Dhami. A number of Panchayat representatives and Congress leaders from Uttarkashi joined the BJP along with Ramola. Two-time leader of opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun and former chairman of OBC commission, Ashok Verma also joined the BJP. He said that he had worked for the Congress for 44 years and was joinedby 87-year-old Pradeep Goyal who had spent his life in the Congress. Such persons leaving the Congress to join the BJP shows that there is a Modi wave in the nation, Verma said. His son and former State media in-charge of the Youth Congress, Shiv Verma, Vijay Vardhan Dandriyal and a number of others also joined the party. Former Haridwar district Panchayat head Subhash Verma returned to the Congress along with a number of others on the occasion. Bahujan Samaj Party leader from Roorkee, Neeraj and others along with former Nanakmatta Nagar Panchayat chairman Prem Singh from the Congress and his supporters were also among those who joined the BJP.
