Governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh said that the Pran Pratishtha in the Ram temple in Ayodhya is a historic and joyous occasion and an epoch-making moment. The consecration ceremony was viewed live by Singh along with officials at the Raj Bhawan where a Bhajan Sandhya was also held in the evening to mark the occasion.
Stating that the consecration of Ram Lalla’s idol in Ayodhya is an important moment in India’s history, he said that it is unforgettable for crores of Indians. “This moment has come after centuries of wait and we have been fortunate to witness it. All of us will have to fulfill our commitment and duties and contribute towards nation building to achieve the vision of Ram Rajya. Lord Ram is a unique ideal not only for Indians but for the entire humanity. What we witnessed now is a rare sight rarely witnessed in the history of humanity,” he said.
The governor and his wife Gurmit Kaur also offered prayers at the Rajpragyeshwar temple in the Raj Bhawan premises on the occasion.
