The police nabbed two brothers- Sandeep Bhagat (24) and Subhash Bhagat (28) along with the latter’s wife Phoolkumari Devi (22) for the murder of their sister Reena. The village head Pravesh Kumeti had informed the police after it came into notice because of its foul smell. The police officials on receiving the information reached the site and witnessed a dead body buried with stones. The police made efforts to identify the dead body by putting up photos and pamphlets on social media and public places. A resident of Rajiv Nagar, Muntun Bhagat came to the police station and suspected the dead body of his sister-in-law. He told the police that the deceased had come to visit Dehradun along with her brothers. On interrogating the accused, Sandeep told that his sister was not listening to them and wanted to marry a boy of lower caste. She continued to keep contact with the boy even after coming to Dehradun. On November 6, the two brothers and sister-in-law took Reena to Soda Saroli forest and suffocated her to death at a secluded place, and buried her body with stones in the same forest. The accused will be produced before the court.
