The police arrested two more conspirators in the Tarsem Singh murder case. The arrested accused have been identified as Satnam Singh (51) and Sultan Singh (55). Satnam Singh was arrested at the Nepal border and Sultan Singh was arrested in Haryana, the Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Manjunath TC said. He said that Sultan was the mastermind behind the murder of Tarsem Singh. He planned the murder, recruited the other conspirators and provided them with money and weapons, the SSP claimed. The SSP said that due to the ongoing rivalry over the supremacy over the Gurudwaras and religious places associated with the Sikh community in the Terai region, the accused Sultan along with some influential people included accused Dilbag, Balkar, Pargat, Harvinder and Satnam in a conspiracy to murder Tarsem Singh. The incident was carried out after months of planning. The Dera Kar Sewa Pramukh of Udham Singh Nagar’s Nanakmatta Gurudwara, Tarsem Singh was shot dead on March 28 by two bike- borne assailants at the Gurdwara. TC informed that the police have so far arrested nine conspirators involved in the murder case. The police also killed one of the assailants Amarjeet Singh alias Bittu in an encounter in the Bhagwanpur area of Haridwar district on April 9. The SSP said that dozens of cases related to heinous crimes like murder, robbery and gangsters are registered against the arrested criminals in Uttarakhand and nearby states.
