UKPSC also under the ambit of anti-copying law

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) and other agencies entrusted with the task of conducting the recruitment examinations in Uttarakhand are also under the ambit of the new anti-copying law. The Uttarakhand Competitive Examination (measures for control of prevention of unfair means in recruitment) ordinance-2023 has been implemented in the State and cases have been registered on a candidate of the Patwari- Lekhpal examination in Uttarkashi district and one news portal under the new law. The examination was held on Sunday. The ACS Radha Raturi said that the new law would be applicable on all the recruitment examinations in Uttarakhand but added that the examinations of colleges and schools would not be covered under it. In response to a question on registration of case on a candidate under section 11 (2) of the new law for spreading misleading information, the ADG (Law and Order) V Murugesan said that an officer of the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) is investigating the case and all aspects including the role of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission would be investigated.
