Passengers had a lucky escape when the bus they were travelling in was swept off its wheels to its side by the torrent in a seasonal nullah in Ramnagar on Friday. All the passengers were safely rescued from the bus. The accident happened on a day when Ramnagar received heavy rains measuring 102 millimetre. A bus with about 27 passengers was swept off balance near the Teda village in Ramnagar area while navigating a seasonal nullah in the afternoon. The Fire Service personnel reached the site on being informed and were able to safely rescue all the passengers. A long queue of vehicles was formed at the site. The Tehsildar BC Pant said that all the passengers were safe and unhurt. The accident had been caused due to heavy rain, he added.
