Paryavaran Mitra programmes held in schools

In latest news from Uttarakhand, workshops meant to arouse environmental awareness among the students were organised in several schools in the mountainous areas of the district. The   three organisations which organised these workshops together said that Paryavaran Mitra programmes aimed at providing information related to weather and disaster to the students. The organisers said that the students had been provided with important information about earthquake, lightning, cloudburst and impact of natural calamity on agriculture at the workshop organised at the Government High School at Fitari in Mori, Uttarkashi. Besides, the students were informed on how to download and use apps developed by the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences. Plus, thermometers and rain gauges were also provided to the school.

Those who addressed the students at the workshop, including the political leader Colonel Ajay Kothiyal, spoke on the deep connect between agriculture and natural disasters.  Before this event at the school at Firari, similar programmes had been conducted in Government High School Athali, Government Inter College Manpur and Government Inter College Mustiksaur.
