In latest news from Uttarakhand, with polling slated on April 19 in Uttarakhand in the first of the seven –phase electioneering, the nomination filing process is ending on Wednesday. Till the time of filing this report, 26 candidates have filed nomination for the five seats up for grabs. As per the Election Commission officials, eight candidates have filed nomination for Pauri Garhwal, six each for Tenri and Haridwar and three each for Almora and Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar seats. On the concluding day of the nomination, Congress nominees Ganesh Godiyal for Pauri Garhwal, Virender Rawat for Haridwar and Pradeep Tamta for Almora constituencies will file nomination while the BJP candidate for Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Ajay Bhatt will file nomination.
