A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between GBP University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) and Indian Army North India Headquarters to promote the use of coarse grains or millets (Shri Anna) and its products in the Indian Army. While the vice- chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan signed it on behalf of GBPUAT Lt D G Mishra, A VSM put his signature for the Indian Army. The VC said that the agreement aims at taking the researches done by the university on millets and its products to the Indian Army to enable it to avail its benefits. Along with this, training the army mess personnel to prepare dishes from millets products is also an important part of the MoU.
Lt D G Mishra, AVSM mentioned GBPUAT’s contribution in bringing about the green revolution in the country which made India self-sufficient in food grain production.
