Netaji’s role most significant in freedom movement- Gen Bakshi

Major General (Retd) G D Bakshi has said that the role of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was the most significant in the independence movement of India but it is unfortunate that even after 75 years of independence, Netaji and his Azad Hind Fauj never got the respect which they deserved.  He was speaking at a programme organised to mark the 125 birth anniversary of Netaji at Shri Guru Ram Rai (SGRR) University here on Friday. He said that a grand statue of Netaji will be inaugurated in front of the National War Memorial near India Gate soon and all the preparations from the side of the government of India  has been made in this regard. General Bakshi also interacted with the students and he shared many significant points and knowledge about the freedom struggle of India.  In his address, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university, U S Rawat presented a detailed analysis of the new education policy. He also embarked upon the works undertaken by the university in the fields of imparting modern education, organic farming and research.

In the programme, deep obeisance and respect were paid to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. The programme was organized by the university’s School of Management and Commerce Studies.
