Muni Ki Reti municipal council gears up against dengue

Thursday, 31 August 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The teams of the Municipal Council of Muni Ki Reti distributed bleaching powder on Thursday to minimise the risk of vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria. This initiative was flagged off by the district magistrate of Tehri, Mayur Dixit and municipality chairman Roshan Raturi.

The officials said that the town witnessed severe water logging issues in many areas during the rainy season which has increased the risk of dengue and malaria. The council has been spraying insecticides and carrying out the bleaching process in vulnerable areas regularly for the past several weeks.

The officials said that to minimise the risk of the spread of dengue and malaria to the residents living near these waterlogged areas, the sanitation teams prepared several packages of bleaching powder each weighing two to three kilogrammes and distributed among locals.
