In an incident which has raised questions at the purpose of some people visiting pilgrimage places, a group of tourists were roughed up for smoking a hookah while sitting on the steps of the Ganga bathing ghat in Har Ki Paidi here.
Reportedly from Haryana, the group of three to four men was spotted dipping their feet in the Ganga while smoking a hookah at Har Ki Paidi.
Members of the Ganga Sabha reached the site and roughed up the men, as seen in a video clip that went viral on the social media. They were handed over to the police who penalised them for disturbing peace and order.
