The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will organise the Dehradun Swachch Ward Ranking event on Friday to felicitate those establishments which have been working towards improving sanitation facilities in their premises, respective wards or across the city. This event is being organised under Swachh Survekshan 2023 (SS23) and establishments like hospitals, schools, colleges, hotels, government offices, markets and apartment buildings will be felicitated who have adopted measures to ensure proper garbage disposal.
The mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ will felicitate the representatives of these on Friday. He said that this event is being organised to felicitate those establishments that have been doing waste management at their own level which immensely helps the corporation in the easy disposal of garbage. He said that the event is meant to motivate others to adopt such measures and increase public participation in the Swachh Survekshan 2023 (SS23). People who want to participate in the event can contact the corporation at 7906653404. ‘Gama’ said that MCD aims to get into the top 50 cleanest cities of the country in SS23 which is not possible without the participation of citizens. He said that MCD has been making consistent improvements in Swacch Survekshan for the past three years and with such initiatives, the city is expected to get into the top 50 cleanest cities from 69th position last year.
