Interacts with health worker Poonam Nautiyal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the efforts of the heath workers and the state government for achieving the feat of administering the first dose to the entire eligible population of Uttarakhand in his Mann Ki Baat programme on Sunday. In the programme the PM also talked with Poonam Nautiyal, a health worker of Bageshwar. She told the PM that she along with her colleagues encouraged people of the area to get vaccinated. Nautiyal added that vaccination was done by them by covering a distance of eight to ten kilometres on foot in the mountainous terrain. The pregnant, specially abled and the elderly were vaccinated in their homes by her. Appreciating Nautiyal, the PM said that she went out of her way for vaccinating people.
The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami listened to the Mann Ki Baat at his residence on Sunday. The CM returning from a five-day tour of the disaster affected areas of the state huddled up with cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj, Ganesh Joshi, Dhan Singh Rawat and Yatishwaranand, Mayor of Dehradun Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ and others to listen to the PM’s address.
After the end of the programme, the CM said that the Mann Ki Baat of PM motivates everyone to think and work for the benefit of the country and the society. He said that the PM guides like a statesman and guardian and it was due to his capable leadership that under the ‘ free vaccine to all’ campaign more than 100 crore doses of vaccine have been administered. The CM said that India is showing the world the way by its successful vaccination drive. He said that the role of health workers is of paramount importance in the success of the vaccination drive. The CM asked the people to remain cautious and not let the guard down on the Covid-19 front. He said that by the determination of health workers a state with tough geographical conditions like Uttarakhand could administer the first dose to its entire population and claimed that soon the target of 100 per cent vaccination would be accomplished.
Dhami said that everyone should follow the mantra ‘Vocal for local’ and promote use of local products in the ongoing festival season. The CM also talked with Poonam Nautiyal who talked with PM Modi in Mann Ki Baat and congratulated her.
